Most of the work was talking and engaging with people after you have learned the material. So at first it's a lot studying and learning what means why and which goes where (Just a bunch of confusing stuff). You then have to convince someone why it's good for them when it took you weeks just to learn what it is. So its difficult but if you have the willingness and apptiuded to talk then this is the path for you.

im very happy i got this internship because it has taught me a lot about being financially stable and how to sell products like what to say and what not to say.
Even if the internship doesn't work which I don't see happening at least it would have been a great learning experience and I can make smarter decisions when get insurance and investing. I was even able to give my opinion in arguing why this product is better and now my mentor even used the same argument I used I definitely have a new appreciation for sales men and women who go out try to convince you to give them your money. It's not easy being turned down 24/7 but when you do make those sales it was definitely worked for. I really wasn't sure what i was going to do after high school and after this i think i have a pretty good idea on what i want to do. i do know that it will be something this field whether it be insurance or real estate. you can defintal tell when someone is trying to sell you something because no matter what they always smile and keep a happy attitude when it comes to the product but when talking about anything else they will try to connect it to the product and if they cant they'll just bring straight up one thing that i should know before working there is that there is a lot of interaction so i can not be shy.
my mentors is a broker/financial advisor learning how to sell and what it is exactly that i'm selling and why people need it. it is difficult working here because there's a lot of rejection and people wanting nothing to do with you but you have to keep trying to sell to them and keeping going even though they said no. something from school that i can connect to internship is all the exhibitions that made me speak in front of people helped me be better at public speaking and makes this job a lot easier. Recently i've been learning different things, like what trust funds are and how they work or the difference between a 401k and Roth IRAs witch are "tax free" what it really means is when you pull money out with a 401k you get taxed so that $100,000 in the account, when pulled out will really only be anywhere between 80,000-60,000. But when you have Roth you get taxed when the money is put in so when you see that 100,000 you get it all tax free because you already payed them. That's why I said "tax free" so depending on the economy if taxes are at an all time low then putting money in a roth is smart but if its at its high then a 401k is smarter as long as taxes dont keep going up. so for my presentation im going to go over what it is primerica does and how you can get the most out of your money.
I haven't had the problem of needing to speak up for myself. But i have needed to speak in front of and to people who i didn't know. but for the most part when it comes to keeping people happy that's there main goal. From what I've seen everyone is nice and almost go out of there way to be nice. i haven't had any problems with anyone there and its just been a great learning environment. nothing has maid me not want to work there (other than the religious undertone) but what doesn't.
For my project I plan on doing a presentation on what Primerica is and what they do. Also through the presentation I will also be giving money saving tips and I will talk about of stocks and bonds work. I am going to use the sales skills that I am learning to give better presentations. The type of work I've been doing correlates to this because i have been learning how to tell people how to save money. so this project will be what I,m studying to anyways
At fist primerica was just a lot of studying for sales pitches and testing to get licensed as a broker. But theres also the get out there and meet with clients. There's a lot to the art of the sale. There are serten words that you should refrain from saying because it gives it a bad feel.
At my career day I went to the trash mill to dump a truck full of concrete, dirt, and trash. Then we went back to job site to fill the truck up with more items to go empty it again. At the job site i had to move a mound of dirt into the truck and flatten out 2 inch thick sand over a spot where new cement was going. The workers were always working hard even when my mentor left, they still worked hard. So the jobs expectation was to get work done and don't mess around. Lunch was around 1:30 even though we started around 7, ended around 4:30. But for lunch my mentor goes out and leaves all the workers to get food and had to stay behind to work. He got Taco Bell. the truck when we dumped it weighed 18,890 pounds when full but empty it was 13,780 pounds. So filling that thing as you can guess was a pain especially when all you have is: 3 workers, 3 shovels, and 2 wheel barrels and get it from a backyard to a big truck out front is hard. On a slow load they move 2 ½ tons. A normal day has about three to four truck loads.
