similarity is having the same shape; having corresponding sides proportional and corresponding angles equal. a proportion is when 2 ratios are equal. If two pairs of corresponding angles in a pair of triangles are congruent, then the triangles are similar. We know this because if two angle pairs are the same, then the third pair must also be equal. When the three angle pairs are all equal, the three pairs of sides must also be in proportion. so we were given this project to learn how proportions work and with that we took a donut and made it 8 times bigger bye just multiplying the original ingredients to a donut and multiplying it by 8. it took a lot of ingredients. so with that the surface got 8 times bigger and didn't turn out looking like a donut because it feel apart but we got it to be donut shaped. so the relationship between similarity and proportions is that the normal when you looking for the same you look for similarity or a proportion of it. unlike dilation and similarity dilation is when you make it the same shape but different size and is basically the same thing. the same thing in benchmark #2#3#4 is that it all has to do with growth and shrinking. this was fun project and it is one of the most fun we have done all year.
